The reigning champions, Ferroviario Maputo, advanced to the AWBL final with a hard-fought 71–65 overtime victory over ASC Ville de Dakar. ASC Ville de Dakar led early, taking an 18–15 edge in the first quarter and extending the advantage at halftime. Ferroviario responded in the second half, forcing overtime with strong defense and timely scoring. In the extra period, the champions asserted their experience, outscoring ASCV 12–6 to seal their place in the final.
Carla Covane (190-C-1999, college: Cumberlands) stepped up with 16 points, whilst Silvia Veloso (170-G-1998, college: Cumberlands) and Odelia Mafanela (181-F-1989) ended up with 15 points each. Aliyah Matharu (170-G-2001, college: Baylor) answered with 27 points in the losing effort.
