Leia Dongue (ex Bretagne) is a newcomer at Roma

Serie A1 newcomer Oxygen Roma Basket strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old Mozambique international power forward Leia Dongue (185cm-1991) for season 2023-24. Dongue is the second import player in the roster as Hungarian Dalma Czukor signed here earlier.
She played most recently at Bretagne in French LFB league, but left the team in Apr.'23. In 20 games she recorded very impressive stats: 16.0ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.2apg last season.
The previous (2021-22) season she played at Araski in Spanish LF Endesa where in 30 games she averaged 14.4ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.1apg in that year. A very spectacular season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LF Endesa Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week.
She also represented Mozambique at the World Championships for Women in Turkey nine years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 15.0ppg, 11.7rpg, FGP: 35.6%, 3PT: 50.0%, FT: 63.6%.
She is quite experienced player. Dongue has played also professionally in France (Nantes), Angola (1 De Agosto and Primero), Hungary (Cegledi), Spain (Girona, Gernika, Logrono and Al-Qazeres) and Mozambique (Desportivo Maputo).
