KutxaBank Araski (LF Endesa) landed 30-year old Mozambique international 185cm power forward Leia Dongue for new season. Dongue played most recently at Nantes Reze Basket in French LFB league. In 21 games she averaged 13.3ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.0spg last season.
The previous (19-20) season she played at Promete in Spanish LF Endesa where in 22 games she had very impressive stats: 16.2ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.3spg. It was a very successful season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB 2nd Team.
She also represented Mozambique at the World Championships for Women in Turkey seven years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 15.0ppg, 11.7rpg, FGP: 35.6%, 3PT: 50.0%, FT: 63.6%.
Dongue is a very experienced player. She has played also professionally in Hungary (Cegledi), Angola (1 De Agosto and Primero), Spain (Girona, Gernika and Al-Qazeres) and Mozambique (Desportivo Maputo).
Dongue is described as: She is not only a dominant force in the paint, but can hit the basket from outside too, almost ready to play stably the 4 position at any level.
