Fer.Maputo inks Myck Kabongo- May 1, 2021

In 2015 (two years after he left the college) Kabongo was drafted by the Delaware 87ers (D-League) in the second round (24th overall). He attended the University of Texas until 2013 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. Kabongo has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014. He is a member of the DR Congo international program for some years. Kabongo has played for the Congolese Senior National Team since 2017. He represented Congo at the Afrobasket Championships four years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 14.5ppg, 5.8rpg, Assists-2 (4.8apg), Steals-3 (2.8spg), FGP: 43.3%, 3PT: 40.0%, FT: 63.6%. Kabongo is quite an experienced player. He has played in eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America). Kabongo has played previously professionally in France (STB Le Havre), Mexico (Rayos de Hermosillo), Romania (Pitesti), Saudi Arabia (Al Nasr), Spain (Zornotza), Sweden (SBBK), Canada (High School and Guelph), and NBA G League (Austin Spurs, Texas L., Fort Wayne Mad Ants, College Park S., and Raptors 905 Mississauga). The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others His team won the Mexican CIBACOPA Regular Season in 2017. Kabongo was also voted Afrobasket.com All-Afrobasket Championships 2nd Team back in 2017. |
