Nigeria's Gombe Bulls Record Second Defeat At FIBA Africa Champions Cup - Dec 12, 2017

Nigeria Premier Basketball League side, Gombe Bulls, have recorded their second defeat at the ongoing 2017 FIBA Africa Champions Cup for men in Tunisia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. The Nigerian team who came second in the Kwese sponsored Premier Basketball League to qualify for the continental Championship, were beaten 71-60 points by Mozambique's Ferroviario Beira on Tuesday afternoon. Gombe Bulls started the game on a good note, leading the first quarter with 22-19 points advantage, but went to sleep in the second quarter to pave way for the Mozambicans to dominate the period with 24-15 points. The first half ended 43-37 points in favour of Ferroviario Beira . Gombe Bulls however returned to the court stronger after the half time rest, looking to winning the third quarter, but their efforts could only earned them a 12-12 points tie while the fourth quarter was clearly in favour of Ferroviario Beira who won with 16-11 points to end the match 71-60 against the Nigerians. Gombe Bulls' point guard, Godwin David, contributed 13 points in the game, Simon Ameh added 7 rebounds while shooting guard Abdulwahad recorded 2 assists in the game. Gombe Bulls had lost their first game game on Mondy 62-90 points to Union Sportive Monastir of Tunisia. With the two defeats so far, the Nigerian side has two points going into their Wednesday's third game against Groupment Sportif Des Petroliers of Algeria.

Angolan Basketball teams of Petro de Luanda and Atletico Sport Aviacao (ASA) will participate in the 2nd Edition of Maputo tournament (Mozambique) on November 8 - 10, ahead of celebrations of the 131st anniversary of Maputo city.
