Mozambique U16-Tunisia U16 55:71

Achref Gannouni leads Tunisia into the semis of the U16 AfroBasket. He nailed 43 points to help his team to beat Mozambique 71:55 in the Quarterfinal Stage.
Although Mozambique finished fourth in Group B, they won the opening tip. Trailing however 7:9 after the first five minutes, Tunisia grabbed a 27:14 lead at the end of the first period. The latter had 45:32 advantage at the halftime and never looked behind after. Tunisia increased to 16 points midway through the third frame and led 59:45 after three periods. Mozambique meanwhile reduced to 9 points with 5 minutes to go, but Tunisia grabbed a 16-point victory.
Mahmoud Hajri scored 7 points for the winners, while three other players scored 4 each. Loren Langa ended up with 29 points and 12 rebounds in defeat, whilst OCTAVIO CHUMA and Titos Fernando poured in 11 each. GUIAMBA WAGNER delivered 4 points in the losing effort.

Rwanda Energy Group basketball club sealed a perfect start in the FIBA Africa Basketball League (AfroLeague) as they defeated Mozambican side Ferroviario da Beira in the opening game of Group C played on Friday night in Cairo.
