The most exciting game of round 5 in the DEX-H took place in Larache. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Larache (2-3) to leader MAS Fez (5-0) 66-64 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Undefeated MAS Fez have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Larache lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Essaouira and FAR Rabat. MAS Fez are looking forward to face FAR Rabat (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Larache will play against CPAM in Midelt and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked KACM (3-2) against sixth ranked MTB (3-2) on Sunday night. Visiting KACM was defeated by MTB in Tanger 81-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KACM. MTB moved-up to fourth place, which they share with IRT Tanger and KACM. MTB will play against ASC (#12) in Casablanca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KACM will play at home against IRT Tanger (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked ASCHBB (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 104-77 loss to seventh ranked WAC (3-1) in on Tuesday evening. WAC moved-up to third place. ASCHBB lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. WAC will meet at home CODM (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. ASCHBB will play against Essaouira (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Other games of round 5 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Essaouira lost to undefeated AS Sale in a road game 65-89. CODM was smashed by IRT Tanger at home 51-76. Winless CPAM was destroyed by FUS Rabat on the opponent's court 109-45. FAR Rabat outscored ASC in a home game 77-56.
