Wydad AC Casablanca tabs Gary Talton, ex Anorthosis

Gary Talton

Wydad AC Casablanca (DEX-H) inked experienced 34-year old American 185cm point guard Gary Talton (college: UIC) for upcoming season. He was best passer at Anorthosis in Cypriot OPAP Basket League last season where in 28 games he recorded 11.5ppg, 2.7rpg and 4.6apg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also played in the Supercup final. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Great season indeed as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Honorable Mention.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at BK Ogre (LBL) in Latvian league. Talton also played 11 games in Latvian LBL where he averaged impressive 15.5ppg, 5.3rpg, 5.0apg and 1.1spg in that year.
In 2013 he was drafted by Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League) in fourth round (67th overall).
He graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Talton has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
He is a very experienced player. Talton has played also professionally in Greece (Aris Midea, Rethymno, Trikala and Holargos), Latvia, Lithuania (Lietkabelis), Romania (Timisoara and Pitesti), United Kingdom (Plymouth Patriots), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce, RGV Vipers, Indiana Mad Ants, Delaware Blue Coats and Grand Rapids Gold) and The Basketball Tournament (Fort Wayne Champs).
He played in the final of D-League in 2015.
