KACM Kawkab de Marrakech signs Alexis Jones, ex Santurce

Alexis Jones

KACM Kawkab de Marrakech (DEX-D) signed 29-year old American guard Alexis Jones (175cm-69kg-1994, college: Baylor) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Jones joins another USA player Britney Jones who is already in the roster.
She played this summer at Cangrejeras de Santurce in Puerto Rican BSNF. She managed to play in four leagues in four countries last year (!!!). In 5 BSNF games just recently she had only 2.8ppg and 1.0rpg. She ended 22-23 season at Ormanspor in Turkish KBSL where in four games she recorded 10.5ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.5apg. But the most of that year she spent at Energa Krajowa Grupa Spozywcza Torun in Polish OBLK. In 20 games she averaged impressive 20.7ppg, 5.6rpg, 5.9apg and 1.5spg. 2022-23 was a great season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Polish EBLK Honorable Mention.
In 2017 she was drafted by Minnesota Lynx (WNBA) in first round (12th overall).
Jones graduated from Baylor University and it will be her seventh season in pro basketball.
She is quite experienced player. Jones has played in seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). She has played previously professionally in Israel (Ramat Hasharon, Elitzur Ramla and Elitzur Holon), Mexico (Fuerza Regia), Russia (Sparta&K Vidnoe Moscow Region), Spain (Al-Qazeres), Switzerland (Fribourg), WNBA (LA Sparks and Atlanta Dream) and Turkey (Hatay). Her team won Big 12 Tournament in 2015 and 2016.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she was voted Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBPF Guard of the Year in 2022. Jones played also for Duke University for 2 years.
