D1 Round 20: MTB lose to FUS Rabat

Round in D1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Rabat where host FUS Rabat (12-3) crushed league's leader MTB (12-4) 77-58 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of MTB. It was a key game for the top position in the league. FUS Rabat have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. MTB at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by FUS Rabat. MTB will play next round against MAS Fez trying to make it back to the top of the standings. FUS Rabat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
The game in Casablanca was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked IRT Tanger (10-6) played at the court of 7th ranked RCA Casabl. (7-9). IRT Tanger managed to secure a 5-point victory 79-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of RCA Casabl.. IRT Tanger moved-up to fourth place. RCA Casabl. at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with AREH. IRT Tanger will play against higher ranked AS Sale (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. RCA Casabl. will have a break next round.
A very close game took place in Fez between WAC and MAS Fez. Eleventh ranked WAC (4-9) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked MAS Fez (9-6). WAC managed to escape with a 3-point win 74-71 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of MAS Fez. WAC maintains eleventh position with 4-9 record. Loser MAS Fez dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. WAC will meet at home higher ranked FAR Rabat (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. MAS Fez will play against the league's second-placed MTB and will have a slim chance for a victory.

In the last two games of round 20 KACM crushed OCY in Marrakech 115-66. AREH lost to defending champion AS Sale at home 68-74.

There was no surprise in Yusufiya where 12th ranked OCY (1-13) was crushed by eighth ranked KACM (8-8) 115-66 on Saturday. KACM moved-up to seventh place. OCY lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. KACM will meet at home Larache (#10) in the next round. OCY will play against AREH in El Hajeb and hope to win that game.

AREH - AS Sale 68-74

No shocking result in a game in El Hajeb where third ranked AS Sale (11-2) defeated 9th ranked AREH (7-9) 74-68 on Saturday. AS Sale have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 11-2 record behind leader FUS Rabat. AREH lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with RCA Casabl.. AS Sale will meet IRT Tanger (#4) on the road in the next round. AREH will play against OCY (#12) and hope to secure a win.
