D1 Round 17 of Regular Season- February 24, 2023
The Regular Season in D1 is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Larache - AS Sale 62-74 There was no surprise when 10th ranked Larache (4-9) was defeated at home by second ranked AS Sale (10-2) 74-62 on Saturday. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-2 record behind leader MTB. Larache lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. AS Sale will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Larache will play against OCY (#12) in Yusufiya and it may be a tough game between close rivals. KACM - FAR Rabat 83-72 An interesting game was played in Marrakech where host KACM (#8) won against 4th placed FAR Rabat 83-72 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FAR Rabat. KACM maintains eighth place with 7-7 record. Loser FAR Rabat keeps the fourth position with three games lost. KACM will meet RCA Casabl. (#9) in the next round. FAR Rabat will play against AREH (#7) and hope to secure a win. FUS Rabat - OCY 97-37 No shocking result in a game when third ranked FUS Rabat (10-3) smashed at home 12th ranked OCY (1-11) 97-37 on Saturday. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for FUS Rabat. They maintain third place with 10-3 record behind leader MTB. OCY lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. FUS Rabat will meet WAC (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. OCY will play against Larache and it may be a tough game between close rivals. IRT Tanger - MTB 63-65 Important game to mention about took place in Tanger. First ranked MTB (11-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked IRT Tanger (8-5) 65-63 on Saturday evening. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for MTB. They maintain first place with 11-3 record. IRT Tanger at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with MAS Fez. MTB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tanger . AREH - MAS Fez 79-89 The biggest surprise of round 17 was guest MAS Fez's (8-5) road victory over 6th ranked AREH (7-6) 89-79 on Tuesday evening. MAS Fez have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with IRT Tanger. AREH lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. MAS Fez is looking forward to face IRT Tanger (#5) at home in the next round. AREH will play against FAR Rabat and is hoping to win this game. |
