D1 Round 13: AREH lose to IRT Tanger

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

There was a change at the D1 leadership position after last games. Round 13 most important game was a defeat of league's leader AREH (7-3). They were defeated by third ranked IRT Tanger (8-3) 57-48 on Sunday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. IRT Tanger have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Newly promoted AREH dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with FUS Rabat and MTB. They were replaced at the leadership position by IRT Tanger. AREH will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. IRT Tanger will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked FUS Rabat on the road.
Very significant was AS Sale's (#4) 76-68 road victory against 5th ranked FAR Rabat. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Defending champion (7-1) moved-up to second place. FAR Rabat at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. AS Sale will play against RCA Casabl. (#10) in Casablanca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. FAR Rabat will play on the road against OCY (#12) in Yusufiya and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Tanger between Larache and MTB. Eighth ranked Larache (4-5) got a very close victory on the road over much higher ranked MTB (7-3). Larache managed to escape with a 1-point win 66-65 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of MTB. Larache maintains eighth place with 4-5 record, which they share with MAS Fez. Loser MTB dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with FUS Rabat and AREH. Larache will meet at home MAS Fez (#9) in the next round. MTB will play against Club Bni (#13) in Yznasn and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 13: RCA Casabl. lost to FUS Rabat on the opponent's court 77-81. WAC outscored Club Bni in a home game 92-28. OCY recorded a loss to MAS Fez on the road 64-78.



FAR Rabat - AS Sale 68-76

Very significant was AS Sale's (#4) 76-68 road victory against 5th ranked FAR Rabat. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Defending champion (7-1) moved-up to second place. MTB - Larache 65-66

A very close game took place in Tanger between Larache and MTB. Eighth ranked Larache (4-5) got a very close victory on the road over much higher ranked MTB (7-3). FUS Rabat - RCA Casabl. 81-77

Very expected game when 10th ranked RCA Casabl. (3-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked FUS Rabat (7-3) 81-77 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. FUS Rabat moved-up to third place, which they share with AREH and MTB. RCA Casabl. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. FUS Rabat will meet at home league's leader IRT Tanger in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. RCA Casabl. will play against the league's second-placed AS Sale (#2) and hope to secure a win.

WAC - Club Bni 92-28

The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked WAC's (2-7) home victory over bottom-ranked Club Bni (0-10) 92-28 on Saturday. WAC moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Club Bni still closes the standings with ten games lost. WAC will meet higher ranked KACM (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Club Bni will play against MTB (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

MAS Fez - OCY 78-64

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked OCY (1-7) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked MAS Fez (4-5) 78-64 on Sunday. MAS Fez moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Larache. OCY lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. MAS Fez will meet Larache (#8) on the road in the next round. OCY will play against FAR Rabat (#6) and hope to win that game.
