D1 Round 5 of Second Stage

The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

First defeat of league's leader Essaouira (2-1) against fourth ranked FAR Rabat (2-1) 77-56 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Essaouira. It was a key game for the second position in the league. FAR Rabat moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Essaouira.
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated AREH (0-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by MAS Fes (3-0) 73-67. MAS Fes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 3-0 record, which they share with FUS Rabat. Newly promoted AREH still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with CPAM.
An interesting game was also a 29-point tough home defeat of 5th ranked WAC in a game in Casablanca versus AS Sale (#6) 74-45. AS Sale (2-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. WAC at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with CRA Hoceima.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked CRA Hoceima (1-2) against fourth ranked IRT Tanger (2-1) on Saturday night. Visiting CRA Hoceima was defeated by IRT Tanger in Tanger 82-72. It was a key game for the second position in the league. IRT Tanger moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. CRA Hoceima at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost.
Bottom-ranked AMIB is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to fifth ranked Larache (2-1) 92-51 on Saturday evening. Larache moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser AMIB still closes the standings with three games lost.

In the last two games of round 5 FUS Rabat smashed CSCETB on the road 78-46. KACM destroyed OSC Safi on its own court 70-51.
