WAYNE ARNOLD
Defending champion AS de Sale (D1) added to their roster experienced 34-year old American swingman Wayne Arnold (198-93kg-84, college: Tennessee State). It is actually Arnold's comeback to Sale as he has played here before. He supposed to play at Al Nasr in Saudi Arabian SBL league. The last season Arnold played at AS Sale. He helped them to win the league title and the cup. A very spectacular season in his career as he was selected Afrobasket.com All-Moroccan League Import Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and voted to All-Imports Team. In 2006 Arnold was drafted by Los Angeles D-Fenders (D-League) in seventh round (79th overall). The former Tennessee State standoutis in his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Arnold was voted USBasket.com All-UBA International Player of the Year back in 2016. He is quite experienced player. Arnold's career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in six different countries. Arnold tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Austria (Kapfenberg Bulls), Iceland, Japan (Niigata Albirex, Iwate Big Bulls and Shiga L-Stars), Qatar (Al Gharafa), Egypt (Al Ahly) and UBA (GIE Maile Matrix). Arnold is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at AS Sale. On Arnold:
Shooting guard with excellent range and amazing accuracy. Shows good athleticism and defensive skills.
