Ayeni
Al Ahli Sports Club Doha (D1) agreed terms with 30-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) forward Olatunbo Ayeni (196-87, college: St.Francis, NY). He started the season at MAS Fes in Moroccan D1 league. The last season Ayeni played at Al Wakrah where in 18 D1 games he was second best scorer with impressive 29.4ppg and averaged 11.3rpg, 2.3apg and 2.0spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Forward of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team.
He won EBA championship title in 2012.
Ayeni is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in five different countries. Ayeni tasted the life as pro basketball player in Asia, Africa and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Qatar (Al Arabi), Egypt (Army), ABA (Jersey Express), APBL (Hudson Valley H.) and NBA G League (Erie Bay Hawks).
Ayeni is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league on the market.
He attended St. Francis College (NY) until 2010 and it is his eighth season as a professional player.
On Ayeni: Kayode Ayeni is a big time athlete with long arms who can score and rebound extremely well.
He has a nose for the basketball and will make things happen by just being on the court.
He handles the ball well in the open court and he slashes to the basket extremely well.
Nickname: "Ola"
