Recreativo do Libolo lost Wednesday to AS Sale of Morocco by 83-84, in the group B first round match of the African Champions men's senior basketball, underway from 07- 16 December in Cairo, Egypt. The Angolan athlete Olimpio Cipriano (194-F-82) was the top scorer of the game with 24 points, followed by his teammates Je'Kel Foster (194-G-83, college: Ohio St., agency: Inception Sports) and Andre Harris (201-PF-85, college: Fair Dickinson) with 18 and 10 points, respectively. 1 de Agosto, another Angola's representative in competition, are expected Thursday to enter the field in this 31st edition of African League. The title holders, Petro de Luanda, are not attending the competition. The tournament started with the GSP of Algeria who beat City Oliers of Uganda by 77-69 of group B. Twelve clubs are competing for the trophy in two series of six. The 1 de Agosto, with eight won trophies, are leading the table of the winners of this competition.

AS Sale clinch seventh League title - 21 days ago
AS Sale celebrated the League title. They beat WAC Casablanca 77:59 for the trophy. The victory marked the fifth straight and seventh overall title for the team. AS Sale eked out a narrow 33:32 halftime lead. WAC pulled ahead for a narrow 50:49 advantage at the end of the third period. But AS Sale used a strong 28:9 run in the fourth term to seal the victory.   [read more]

AS Sale and WAC Casablanca advanced into the League title game. They went victorious in the seminal battles on Tuesday. AS Sale held off FUS Rabat 83:72 to reach the championship game.
