The league did finally start this week - end to the pleasure of all basketball fans, even though rumours of postponed did arise, and all the matches took place.

What can be said about the first day of the league is that all the favourites have easily dominated their opposite, and have made clear their intention this year.

On Saturday, we had the match Vuillemin v/s CNFBB, the Vuillemin easily beat the very young team of the CNFBB on the score of 82 to 42. The team of Mike Dupre look really prepared for this year league and will be a contender to the playoff spot.

The next match involve the current champions, The Real, who played against the EDB, and the champions, even though handicaped by the absence of their number 1 scorer, Ghislain Fanny, made an easy win on the EDB with a score of 72 to 49. They look fit to win another championship this year.

On Sunday, we had 3 matches for the Men, and in the first match, the CSSC played against the newly promoted team of Harlems, and there was no surprise to see CSSC win the match. The other game involve last year's number 4 team in the league, the USBBRH against the Barkly team. The USBBRH won the match on the score of 93 to 64. Finally, the last match involve the CDB, number 3 last year against the Attila team who are by the way, progressing a lot these past years. And it was more difficult than expected for the CDB to win the match as the Attila gave a good response to the CDB. The final score was 64 to 62 for the CDB.

Today, we have one more match which will involve the vice champions, the Flippers, against the ASVP.

I would like to send sincere sympathy to Ghislain Fanny and his family for the lost of his mother this Saturday, on behalf of all eurobasket Team. I know that this is hard times for you and we will all pray for her.
