Hi Basket - ball fans,

Welcome back to what seems to be another great basket - ball year in the paradise Island of Mauritius. After last year championship where for the Men, the Real of Port - Louis were Champions for the 7th consecutive year and as runner up we saw the emergence of the Mahebourg Flippers Team. For the women, we had the Hoops Basket - Ball Club who regain their title from the Curepipe Starlight who end up runner up. This year, we will have a new team that has been promoted in the 1st Division, the Malherbes Harlems, who were champions of the 2nd Division last year. It will be quite interesting to see how they manage with the elite teams.

The competitons for this year will be as follows:

05 February 2006 - Charity Cup (Real v/s Flippers)

March 2006 - Republic Cup (Involving all teams)

April 2006 - CCCOI in Mayottes

May 2006 - Minimes and Cadet tournament

May 2006 - 1st Division Championship (Men & Women)

July 2006 - 2nd Division Championship (Men)

August 2006 - CJSOI International Tournament (Involving national teams U18 of the Indian Ocean Island)

October 2006 - The Masters (Involving the 4 best team)

December 2006 - International Tournament

I will go into more details in the following tournament in my next report and I will also sum up the different transfers that took place this January and believe me, there are many interesting moves this year.

So basket - ball fans, till next time, Happy New Basket - Ball Year to you all!!!

I love this game.
