On the initiative of the Real of Port - Louis Basket - Ball Club, current champions of Mauritius, an international tournament is organised which involves the 3 best teams in Mauritius (The Real, The Flippers and the CDB Les Salines) and the current indian ocean champion, the Premium Cobras from the Seychelles from the 06th of December to the 10th of December 2005. This tournament is a great experience for teams that were not used to match up with international teams especially with a team which has just won the CCCOI.

Yesterday, we had 2 matches which was scheduled. The first match involves the CDB, currently 3rd in the last championship against the Real, 8 times champion of Mauritius. Even though the Real won the match on the score of 92 to 80, the match was not quite as easy as expected as the CDB gave a good response to the attacks of the Real. But the experience and talents of Ghislain Fanny and Jason Howie made the difference.

The second match was a great one where the vice champions of the Mauritius, The Flippers, played against the Indian Ocean champions, the Premium Cobras from the Seychelles and the Flippers made a very unexpected win by beating the Cobras on the score of 76 to 67. The match was a very close game but the Flippers, through the impulsion of Pascal Prayag (26 points), and the help of Thierry JUlie, Ronnie Nagloo, Gino Bader, Bradley Grandsable and Winley Tamby, were up to the challenge and made a great win that will be in the history of local basket - ball.

The tournament will continue this Thursday. At 18hr00, the Premium Cobras will try to erase this defeat against the CDB Les Salines. Both teams are on a defeat and will try to re - position themselves in the standings. At 20hr00, the Real will play against the Flippers which will be one of the great game of this tournament. Remember that the Flippers lost to the Real on the Final of the championship in November and will try to get revenge from this match but the Real are the favourites for this tournament and its going to be hard to make them their first lost since a very long time.

So, basket - ball fans, keep connected to africa basket and we will let you updated about the great games in Mauritian basket - ball.

Till then, see ya all fellows!!! :)
