The National 1st Division Basket - Ball League 2005 - The Playoffs- November 7, 2005
The playoffs took place during this weekend both for the Men and Women and we now know the names of the finalist for this year's 1st Division Championship. Men: The First semi - Final was between the USBBRH and the Mahebourg Flippers and it was 2 great games that the spectators had on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the Flippers dominated the USBBRH on the score of 80 to 60, which made them already had a step in the final. The young team from Mahebourg played a fast attack game with an agressive defence which the USBBRH found difficult to cut down and under the influence of their captain Pascal Prayag, 32points, they won the match. The next day, the second match took place and to be able to qualify for the finals, the USBBRH had to beat the Flippers by more than 20 points to be able to get to the finals and they came in the match with that intention. the match was more intense than the one before and the lead changes at many times by not more tha 5 points in between the teams. At the end of the match, the USBBRH did win the match but only by 8 points which was not enough and the Flippers could celebrate their first ever league final. In the second semi - final, not much was expected from the CDB as the Real was much too strong for them and the Real won both match by more than 30 points which put no suspense in the second semi - final and Ghislain Fanny and his teammates could now focus on the final against the Flippers, for the 8th championship in a row. The first semi - Final was between the CSSC, current champions and the young team of CJSOI and it was no surprise that the CSSC won both legs in an easy manner and are now set to another final where they will have to defend their title against the Hoop. The Hoop made it to the final in a much easier manner than expected as the match between these 2 rivals of the same city, that is, the Hoop and the USBBRH, saw the domination of the Hoop who beat its opponent by more than 25 points in both games and now, they will try to regain their title which they lost last yearto the CSSC itself. For the Women: 2 big matches and thus, stay connected to africa basket and we will take you there in the finals. Till then, see ya all!!! From |
