Tunisia celebrated the second victory at the AfroBasket 2009. They coasted past Mauritius in the classification round. Tunisia therefore will take on Rwanda for the 10th overall position at the tournament. Mauritius will search for the initial win when they take on South Africa later tonight.
Tunisia did not waste too much time to stamp the authority. They won the opening stanza 21:12 and continued to mount the pressure in the second quarter. They avalanched on their opponents with a 33:7 run in the frame establishing a 54:19 lead at halftime. Mauritius managed to score miserable 1 point in the third quarter to trail by massive 56 points heading into the fourth term. Tunisia cruised to the victory in the dying moments. Lilia Inoubli (G-92) delivered 17 points and 9 boards for Tunisia. Thouraya Adsi (82) contributed 12 points and 9 rebounds in the winning effort. Isabelle Nemorin responded with 11 points for Mauritius. Vanessa Speville finished with 7 points in the heavy loss. Mauritius committed 36 turnovers and shot just 19% from the field.
