Sagaba Konate (ex Bursaspor) is a newcomer at Zastal

Sagaba Konate

Zastal BC Zielona Gora (OBL) strengthened their roster with the addition of 28-year-old Mali ex-international center Sagaba Konate (203cm-115kg-1997, college: WVU). He was supposed to play at Bursaspor in the Turkish BSL league. Last season, he played at another Turkish team, Balikesir Buyuksehir Belediyespor (TBL), where in 25 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.0ppg, 7.0rpg, and 1.1spg. He was also named League Player of the Week.
Konate was a member of the Mali international program for some years. He was called to Mali Senior National Team between 2020 and 2022 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2014.
Konate is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Germany (ratiopharm Ulm), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki), Hungary (Kormend), Italy (Trieste), Spain (Zaragoza), NBA G League (Raptors 905 Mississauga), and The Basketball Tournament (Best Virginia).
Konate won the German Bundesliga championship title in 2023. He was voted to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team in 2018 during his college time.
He graduated from WVU in 2019 and it's his 7th season as a pro player.
