AfroBasket 2025: Mali head to the Quarterfinals

Guinea - Mali 67-70

Mali headed to the Quarterfinals of the AfroBasket 2025. They edged Guinea 70-67 in a thriller at the Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda.
Mali grabbed a 25-12 surge at the start and enjoyed 11-point halftime advantage. Guinea replied with a 20-7 rally in the third quarter and Ousmane Drame gave his team 67-66 lead with a minute to go. Mali however replied with free throws from Siriman Kanoute to seal the win.
Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) stepped up with 15 points and Ibrahima Haidara (205-PF-1992) had 14. Alpha Diallo (201-F-1997, college: Providence) answered with massive 31 points in defeat.
