Bursaspor Basketbol (BSL) signed 28-year old Mali ex-international center Sagaba Konate (203cm-115kg-1997, college: WVU, agency: Octagon Europe) for upcoming 2025-26 season. Konate played last season at Balikesir Buyuksehir Belediyespor in the TBL. In 25 games he had very impressive stats: 15.0ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.1spg. He was also named League Player of the Week.
Konate was a member of Mali international program for some years. He was called to Mali Senior National Team between 2020 and 2022 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2014.
Konate is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Germany (ratiopharm Ulm), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki), Hungary (Kormend), Italy (Trieste), Spain (Zaragoza), NBA G League (Raptors 905 Mississauga) and The Basketball Tournament (Best Virginia). Konate played in the final of Big 12 Tournament in 2017 and 2018.
He was voted to Big 12 All-Defensive Team back in 2018.
Konate graduated from West Virginia University in 2019 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
