Palmer Basquet Mallorca Palma (Segunda FEB) has signed 17-year-old Mali 207cm center Youssouf Traore for the new season. He is the second import player on the roster, with USA's Charlie Easley signing earlier. Traore previously played for Casademont Zaragoza in the Spanish Liga Endesa, where he averaged 1.1ppg in 8 games last season. The Segunda FEB league will be a better fit for him, offering more playing time. He had a successful season, winning awards such as Eurobasket.com All-Spanish U19 Championships Player of the Year and making the First Team. Traore also played in the FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 5.0ppg and 2.0rpg in 5 games. He briefly played for Anagan El Olivar Zaragoza (EBA) and EM El Olivar (U16 Championship) in Spain.
Traore was a member of the Mali U18 National Team 2 years ago.
He has played previously for four other teams: Alicante, FC Barcelona, Torrelodones, and Seguros.
