Mahamadou Diawara commits to Oregon

University of Oregon signed 23-year old Mali power forward Mahamadou Diawara (6'10''-249lbs) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Bamako native played for the last four years at Stetson University. In 30 games he had 4.1ppg and 4.4rpg last season. Hatters made it to the CBI Championship Semifinals in 2021. Diawara was named to A-Sun All-Freshman Team in 2020. Hatters made it to the A-Sun Tournament Semifinals in two consecutive years: 2020 and 2021.
He graduated Massanutten Military Academy (Woodstock, VA) in 2019 Diawara played also for Boo Williams in AAU., which he joined from Hamilton Heights Christian Academy. He was ranked by ESPN as the No. 36 center in the country that year. Hatters made it to the National Prep Championship Semifinals.
Diawara represented Mali at the CBI Championship Semifinals two years ago.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team won African U16 Championship in Bamako (Mali) in 2020. His team also won World Championships U17 in Zaragoza (Spain) in 2020. Hatters also also won African U18 Championship in Kigali (Rwanda) in 2020.
