Olympic Pre-Qualifiers: Senegal outlast Mali to finish atop of Group A

Senegal clinched the top position at the Olympic Pre-Qualifiers Group A in Nigeria. They overcame Mali to finish atop of the ladder. Brancou Badio (188-G-1999) came up with 19 points to pace the winners.
Mali used a strong second period rally to secure a 38-33 halftime lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the third term as Mali entered the final quarter up by three points. But Senegal turned things around in the fourth stanza. They sank 25 points and got away with a tough win at the end. Youssou Ndoye (213-C-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) provided 14 points for Senegal. Fousseyni Drame (201-F-2000) answered with 19 points, while Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) had 12 points and 14 rebounds in the defeat.
