We bring you last week's top performances from Malians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced former international guard Ludovic Chelle (188-83, currently plays in France). He could not help Saint Vallier (9-9) in their last game. Despite Chelle's good performance the fifth-placed Saint Vallier (9-9) lost 83-96 at home to the second-ranked STB Le Havre in the Places 1-10 group. He recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 20 minutes on the court. Chelle's team will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And that game will be critical. It's Chelle's first season with the team. This year he averages: 9.6ppg, 2.1rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 45.0%, 3FGP: 41.7% and FT: 74.3% in 32 games he played so far. Chelle has a dual citizenship: Mali and French. Despite he played previously for the French U20 national team, Chelle played also for the Mali national team in 2011.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Nianta Diarra (203-93, currently plays in France). Diarra was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Boulazac Basket in their game against Monaco (15-18) in the French Jeep ELITE ProA. It was not his best game last Sunday. Diarra scored only 2 points in 12 minutes. Boulazac Basket lost 78-90 on the road to the higher-ranked (#10) Monaco. It was Boulazac Basket's third consecutive loss in a row. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. This year Diarra's overall stats are: 4.1ppg, 3.3rpg, 2FGP: 65.3%(49-75), 3FGP: 24.1% and FT: 45.7% in 33 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Mali and French. Diarra is in the roster of the Mali senior national team.

   #3. The Mali player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Ibrahima Sidibe (180-95, currently plays in France). He was not able to secure a victory for GET Vosges (6-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Sidibe's very good performance GET Vosges (#4) was defeated 84-80 on their home court in Golbey by the second-ranked Lourdes-Tarbes in the Places 21-28 group. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Sidibe also added 9 rebounds and 3 assists. The Second Stage already ended. Sidibe has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.3ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.5apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 55.1%(43-78) and FT: 72.7%. Similarly like Diarra and Chelle above Sidibe has both Mali and French nationalities. Despite he played previously for the French U20 national team, Sidibe is currently a member of the Mali senior national team.

   #4. Center Boubacar Sidibe (205-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help HLA Alicante (28-6) in their game against Marin (19-15) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). He recorded only 4 points in 12 minutes. HLA Alicante lost 86-91 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#3) Marin in the East group. They ended the series of five consecutive victories. The Regular Season already ended. This year Sidibe's total stats are: 3.1ppg and 3.0rpg in 23 games. He is also Mali national team player.

Balayera couldn't help GET Vosges (6-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance GET Vosges (#4) was defeated 84-80 on their home court in Golbey by the second-ranked Lourdes-Tarbes in the Places 21-28 group. Balayera recorded 17 points and added 3 passes. Balayera has averaged so far 8.8ppg and 1.1rpg. He also holds two passports: Mali and French. Balayera plays currently for the Mali national team.

   #6. Swingman Mamadou Sy (196-85, college: Cloud County CC, currently plays in France) faced previously mentioned Ibrahima Sidibe in the French NM1 last game. Sy managed to help L'union Lourdes-Tarbes Pyrenees Basket in a victory against the fourth-ranked GET Vosges (6-4) 84-80. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 25 minutes. The Second Stage already ended. Sy has averaged so far 0.4ppg and 3.6rpg in seven games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Mali National Team roster.

He used to play for the Mali national team two years ago.

Boundy has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3spg in 30 games. He is a former international player as four years ago he still played for the Mali senior national team.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Mali passport:

   #1. Drake Reed (194-G/F-87, agency: Inception Sports, college: Austin Peay, currently plays in France) managed to help ALM Evreux Basket to win against the closely-ranked Aix-Maurienne (9-23) 93-84 in the French ProB (second division) last Sunday. He scored only 3 points. ALM Evreux Basket (13-19) is placed 13th in the ProB. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Reed's overall stats this season are: 8.3ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.5apg. He has a dual citizenship: Mali and American.
