Senegal overcame Madagascar to win Group A with a 3-0 record. Madagascar posted a 36-31 halftime lead. Senegal however responded with a 39-26 second half rally to ice the win. Mouhamed Faye (206-C-2005) delivered 26 points and 15 rebounds, while Ousmane Ndiaye (210-SF-2004) added 18 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Mathias M'Madi (194-G-2005) notched 18 points for Madagascar.
