Cameroon registered the latest victory at the 21st FIBA Africa Championship for Women to finish 7th on the tournament. The team defeated Madagascar 66:61 as the latter finished on the 8th spot.
Cameroon opened the game with 16-9, however brought only 1 point advantage to the break. The Madagascans responded with 21-15 in the second frame for 31:30 at the halftime. The third quarter was decisive in the game as the guests grabbed 22-17 in the ten minutes for the 6-point lead. Madagascar managed to win the last stanza 14-13 but it was not enough for the total success.
Madagascar made more fouls than the opponents as they had 25 versus 17. Cameroon was better in steals stats taking 9 against 5. The latter was also better in Rebounds stats.
Alina Senken (180-F/C-88) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Vivanne Noah (81) posted 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Gano netted 7. Agne Rasoambolanoro (F/G-84) had a great night with 29 points for the hosts, while Prisca Razananirina (F) added 9.
