Madagascar - South Africa 101:73

Madagaskar grabbed the second win at the home AfroBasket. They held off South Africa in the third round of action in preliminary Group A. South Africa in the meantime slipped at 1-2 record. Agne Rasoambolanoro (F) came up with impressive 32 points, 8 assists and 4 boards to pace the hosts.
South Africa got to the better start. They consistently delivered in offense and enjoyed a 25:22 lead at the first break. But Madagascar managed to level things up in the second frame. The home team capitalized on the numerous turnovers from South Africa to draw things level at 40. The third frame decided on the winner. Madagascar shifted the gear and unleashed 35 points to build a comfortable 22-point lead. South Africa could not respond and had to bow at the end.
Maiwenn Andriamilandy (G) knocked down 25 points for the winners. Prisca Razananirina (F) had 16 points for Madagascar. Emmerentia Ledwaba (183-F-79) notched 13 points for South Africa. Blessed Mtsweni delivered 11 points in the loss.
