Madagascar beefs up its national team for the prestigious Island Games (JIOI) with Malgasy that are currently playing abroad.
The most notable name on the roster will be Hery Rafidison (186-G-78, college: Webber) who brings a lot of professional basketball experience to the team, thanks to his several stays around Europe and the US.He is joined by Joel Clement (1,85m 25 years old) who plays for ASPTT Aix-en-Provence in the French National 3 and Njaka Herizo Razafimbelo (1,88m 28 years old) who plays currently in Belgium.
Axel Ramandimbisoa (-84) of Caen wont be joining the team ,but with Rafidison and the others, the team should finish under the best three teams.


Mauritius are also preparing under professional circumstances with games against the Athletes in Action from the US while Reunion called up Florent Eleleara (184-G-79) of Boulazac Basket Dordogne (FRA) and other France-based pros to its national team.
Although Boris Elisabeth-Mesnager (201-F-83, college: California (PA) and David Fong Kiwok wont make the trip due to their contract obligations with their respective teams , the squad of the current champions looks promising:
