Benoit Mbala

Al Madina Tripoli (D1) signed 30-year-old Cameroonian ex-international forward Benoit Mbala (200cm-104kg-1995). He is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Shane Rector signed here earlier. He just played at Ankaragucu in the Turkish TBL league. In 12 games, he had very impressive stats: 16.4ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.3apg, and 1.6spg last season. Last season, he played at Zunder Palencia (Primera FEB) in the Spanish league. He also played for Champagne Basket Reims (Betclic ELITE ProA) in the French league.
Three years ago, he represented Cameroon at the FIBA World Cup 2023 African Qualifiers. During this event, he averaged 7.8 points per game and grabbed 4.8 rebounds per game.
Mbala is a highly experienced player, having played in six different countries on three different continents. He has played in France (Limoges CSP Elite, Chorale de Roanne, and Aix Maurienne), Korea (Samsung Thunders), the Philippines (Green Arches), Spain (Caceres), Turkey (Ormanspor and Igdir), and Mexico (Fuerza Regia).
Among many awards, he played in the final of French ProB Play-Offs in 2018. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Gold Honorable Mention back in 2022.
