Al Madina Tripoli (D1) agreed terms with 31-year old American guard Shane Rector (188cm-82kg-1994, college: Utah State). He started the season at Zonkeys de Tijuana in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 23 games just recently he had 14.2ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg. Last season he played at Al Shamal Doha (QBL) in Qatari league.
He is a quite experienced player. Rector's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in ten different countries. Rector tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Asia, Africa and of course North America. He has played professionally in Jordan (Amman United), Kuwait (Jahraa and Kazma), Lebanon (Nadim Souaid Academy), Qatar (Al Gharafa), Saudi Arabia (Ohod), Tunisia (US Monastir), United Arab Emirates (Al Wasl, Al Sharjah and Al Bataeh), TBL (Albany) and Libya (Ahly Benghazi).
Among many awards, his team made it to the Kuwait League Semifinals in 2022. Rector was also voted Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Import Player of the Year back in 2018.
Rector, who graduated from Utah State in 2017, is currently in his ninth season as a professional player. He has also played for other colleges such as Miami Dade College and the University of Missouri.
