Al Ahly Benghazi (D1) signed experienced 35-year-old Algerian 198cm small forward Mohamed Harat. It marks his return to Benghazi, where he previously played. Harat most recently played for Al Nasr in the Saudi Arabian SBL league, averaging an impressive 18.2ppg, 13.2rpg (#2 in the league), 4.4apg, and 1.1spg in 13 games last season. He received recognition as an Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian League Honorable Mention, All-Defensive Team member, and League Player of the Week (2 times). During the previous summer season, he competed for Al Ahly Benghazi.
He is a very experienced player. Harat has played also in Algeria (GS Petroliers), Bahrain (Al-Manama), Kuwait (Kuwait), Morocco, Qatar (Al Rayyan, Al Arabi and Al Shamal), Syria (Al Ittihad), United Arab Emirates (Al Naser) and Libya (Al Ittihad Tripoli).
Among many awards, his team made it to the Libyan Cup Final Four in 2025. He was also selected as the Afrobasket.com All-Libyan League Import Player of the Year in 2025. Harat is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Ahly Benghazi.
