Al Ittihad Tri welcomes back Lofton, ex Taipei TM

Zach Lofton

Al Ittihad Tripoli (D1) signed 33-year-old American 193cm guard Zach Lofton (college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports). It marks his return to Tripoli, where he previously played. Lofton most recently played for Taipei Taishin Mars in the Taiwanese TPBL, averaging 25.0ppg, 4.3rpg, and 4.8apg in 9 games last season. During the previous summer season, he played for Al Ittihad Tripoli.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to pro basketball, he experienced life in eleven different countries playing on four different continents. Lofton is familiar with European, Asian, African, and North American leagues. He has played professionally in Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), China (Liaoning Yi Sheng), Germany (Seawolves), Kuwait (Kazma), Lebanon (Al Riyadi, Sagesse, Homentmen, and Dynamo), Philippines (Bolts), Libya (Ahly Benghazi), NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold), NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks), and The Basketball Tournament (Panamaniacs).
Lofton received the All-SWAC Player of the Year award during his college career in 2017.
Lofton graduated from New Mexico State University in 2018 and is currently in his eighth season in pro basketball. He has also played for Texas Southern University, University of Minnesota, Illinois State University, and San Jacinto College.
