South Sudan powered to a convincing 79–55 win over Libya in the 2027 World Cup African Qualifiers, overcoming a slow start with a dominant all-around performance. After trailing 23–19 at the end of the first quarter, South Sudan surged ahead with a commanding 26–13 second quarter to take control of the game by halftime. Both teams struggled to score in a tight third quarter, finishing 9–9, but South Sudan sealed the result with a strong 25–10 final period, displaying superior depth and energy. Libya couldn’t keep up with South Sudan’s defensive pressure and fast-paced offense, ultimately falling by 24 points.
Both Gach (201-G/F-1999, college: Utah) top-scored for the winners with 15 points and Lok Wur (206-F-2000, college: GCU) had 10. Mohamed Sadi (192-PG-1995) ended up with 19 points in a loss, whilst Adrees Zeew (198-F-2000) produced 13.
