Defending champion Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) inked experienced 35-year old American 191cm guard Marcos Knight (college: MTSU, agency: Slash Sports). Knight has played for the last two years at UNICS Kazan in Russian VTB United League. In 52 games he averaged impressive 16.1ppg, 4.1rpg, 4.0apg and 1.6spg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was voted to VTB United League All-Star Game, All-Defensive Team and All-Imports Team.
Knight is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne Basket and Monaco), Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg, MLP Academics Knightidelberg, Science City Jena and Young Pikes), Spain (Zaragoza) and Turkey (Afyon). His team won Sun Belt East Division Regular Season in 2012 and 2013.
Among many awards he received Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Import Player of the Year award back in 2020.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Al Ahly Tripoli.
He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2013 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges like: Chipola College, Middle Georgia State University.
