The Libyan national basketball team has bolstered its roster with the addition of American-Libyan guard/forward Keljin Blevins (198-G-1995, college: Montana St., agency: Diamond Sports) for the upcoming FIBA AfroBasket 2025 tournament in Angola (August 12-25).

Player Profile:
• Position: Guard/Swingman
• Experience: Former NBA two-way player (Portland Trail Blazers, 2020) with pro stints in Romania, Canada, and Indonesia
• Skill Set: Known for his athleticism, defensive intensity, and three-point shooting

This naturalization strengthens Libya’s chances in a competitive Group D, where they’ll face:
• Guinea
• Host nation Angola
• Rising contenders South Sudan

Blevins becomes part of Africa’s growing trend of diaspora players elevating national teams, following similar moves by South Sudan (Carlik Jones) and Ivory Coast (Matt Costello).

Libyan supporters hope Blevins can help the team improve on their 15th-place finish in 2021, potentially making a surprise run to the knockout stages.
