Sporting signs coach Ahmed Marei, ex Al Nasr

Sporting Alexandria (Superleague) signed experienced 66-year-old Egyptian coach Ahmed Marei. He coached most recently at Al Nasr in the Libyan league.
He ppg coached Egypt at the Albert Schweitzer International Tournament in Mannheim (Unofficial World Championship U18) seven years ago.
Marei has coached previously in Egypt (Zamalek and Al Ittihad Alexandria) and Libya (Al Morog). His team won Libyan League Group 1 Regular Season in 2024.
Among many awards, he was voted Afrobasket.com All-Egyptian Superleague Coach of the Year in 2020.
