Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) added to their roster 30-year old Canadian-Nigerian small forward Caleb Agada (196cm-1994, college: Ottawa, agency: Pensack Sports). Agada moved there from Avtodor in Russian VTB United League. In 41 games he had 12.1ppg, 5.0rpg, 5.7apg and 2.3spg last season. Good year as he was named League Player of the Week (2 times). The last season he played at Prometey in Ukrainian league where in 20 Eurocup games he recorded 11.1ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.2apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. Agada also played 24 games in Lat-Est BL where he averaged 7.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 4.0apg and 1.3spg.
He represented Canada at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) four years ago. His stats at that event were 3 games: 2.7ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.0apg, 1.0bpg.
Agada is quite experienced player. Agada's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in five different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Australia and of course North America. Agada has played previously professionally in Australia, Israel (Hapoel Beer Sheva), Spain (Melilla and Prat), Canada (Honey Badgers and Blackjacks) and NBA Summer League (Denver Nuggets). He won Latvian-Estonian Basketball League championship title in 2023 and 2024. Agada was voted to CIS All-Canadian Defensive Player of the Year back in 2016 and 2017.
He graduated from University of Ottawa in 2017 and it is his eighth season as a professional player. Agada played also for Burlington Elite for one year.
On Agada: Agada was the youngest player and 1st import to record a historic 26p/14r/5a game. A tremendous athlete with tight ball handling, who is excellent in the pick & roll as primary ball handler. Lethal in transition offence and a remarkable finisher around the basket with both hands and a variety of moves. Proven he's ready for a top international club.
