Experienced 35-year old American (has also Libyan passport) 198cm swingman Tony Mitchell (college: Alabama) left Union de Santa Fe (La Liga). In 7 games in Argentina he averaged 12.4ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.0spg this season.
Part of last season he spent at Al Ahly Cairo (Superleague) in Egyptian league. He also played for Al Alhy Benghazi (D1) in Libya.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015. Mitchell has been regularly called to the Libyan Senior National Team since 2023.
He is a very experienced player. Mitchell has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seventeen different countries on six different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Australia (Taipans), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq and Bahrain Club), China (Chongqing), Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Italy (Cantu and Pistoia), Lebanon (Beirut Club), Morocco (AS Sale), Philippines, Puerto Rico (Fajardo and Indios), Russia, Spain, Taiwan (TB Mitchellrobears), Uruguay (Aguada), Venezuela (Trotamundos), NBA (Miami Heat) and Dominican Republic (Soles). He played in the final of Egyptian League in 2024.
Among many awards he was voted to Latinbasket.com Puerto Rican BSN All-Imports Team back in 2017.
He graduated from University of Alabama in 2012 and it is his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
