Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) landed 29-year old British ex-international 211cm center Kavell Bigby-Williams (college: LSU). Bigby-Williams played this summer at Astros in Mexican LNBP. In 48 CIBACOPA games just recently he averaged impressive 16.5ppg, 9.7rpg (#3 in the league), 1.4apg and 1.3bpg. He helped them to make it to the Mexican CIBACOPA final after they ended regular season as second best team. It was a very successful season in his career as he was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Mexican CIBACOPA Center of the Year, voted to All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (4 times). The last season he played at Steelers in Taiwanese PLeague+ where in 7 games he had 9.1ppg, 7.9rpg and 1.3bpg.
Bigby-Williams also represented United Kingdom at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy) nine years ago. His stats at that event were 9 games: 11.7ppg, Reb-3(10.1rpg), 1.0spg, Blocks-2(1.7bpg), FGP: 54.1%, FT: 64.1%.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in seven different countries playing on four different continents. Bigby-Williams is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Belgium (Antwerp Giants), Dominican Republic (Indios), France (Boulazac Basket), Poland, Venezuela (Bigby-Williamsroes), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce, Indiana Mad Ants and Erie BH) and Italy (Cantu).
Among many awards his team won SEC Regular Season in 2019. He received NABC NJCAA D1 Player of the Year award back in 2016.
Bigby-Williams graduated from Louisiana State University in 2019 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges like: University of Oregon, Gillette College.
