Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) added to their roster experienced 36-year old Nigerian international 211cm center Micheal Eric (college: Temple). He played most recently at Halc.Rojos in Mexican LNBP. In 8 games he just recently played he recorded 7.9ppg and 5.9rpg last season. The last season he played at Sonicboom (KBL) in South Korean league.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. Eric has been regularly called to the Nigerian Senior National Team since 2019.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in eight different countries. Eric has played previously professionally in Greece (AEK Betsson and Panelefsiniakos), Italy (Brindisi), Russia (PBC CSKA Moscow), Spain (Baskonia, Unicaja and Surne Bilbao), Turkey (Darussafaka Lassa and Turk Telekom), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks) and NBA G League (Texas Legends and Cleveland Charge). He played in the final of Korean KBL in 2024.
Among many awards he was voted to USBasket.com D-League All-Defensive Team back in 2016.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Ahly Tripoli.
Eric graduated from Temple University in 2012 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
