Al Nasr Benghazi (D1) signed 33-year old American small forward Hollis Thompson (203cm-96kg-1991, college: Georgetown) for upcoming 2024-25 season. Thompson played this summer at Ball Hogs (Big3) in the U.S. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. The last season he played at Al Ahli in Saudi Arabian SBL where in 15 games he had very impressive stats: 17.4ppg, 8.7rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg. Thompson helped them to make it to the Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Fahed Cup Semifinals. 2023-24 was a great season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com Saudi Arabian SBL All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week. He also played 4 games in West Asia Super League where he recorded also remarkable stats: 20.5ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.5apg and 2.3spg.
Thompson has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
He is quite experienced player. Thompson has played in ten different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Germany (Hakro Merlins), Greece (Olympiacos), Italy (Mantova), Mexico (Soles), NBA (New Orleans Pelicans, Philadelphia 76ers, OKC Thunder and Sacramento Kings), Dominican Republic (Caneros), NBA G League (Austin Spurs, NAZ Suns and Stockton Kings), Big3 (3's Company) and NBA Summer League (Sacramento Kings).
Thompson won NBA G League Pacific Division championship title in 2020.
He graduated from Georgetown University in 2012 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player.
