Byron Wesley (ex Al Shurtah) joins Ahly Tripoli for Dubai Tournament

Al Ahly Tripoli (D1) has reached an agreement with Byron Wesley, a 31-year-old American guard. Wesley, who stands at 196cm and weighs 95kg, played for Al Shurtah in the Iraqi Superleague at the start of the season. In three games, he averaged 9.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.3apg, 1.0spg, and 1.0bpg. Last season, Wesley played for another Iraqi team, Al-Hashd (Superleague), where he had impressive stats of 26.5ppg and 4.9apg in 19 games. He played a key role in helping Al-Hashd reach the semifinals.
He has a wealth of experience playing basketball professionally, having had the opportunity to play in various countries across four different continents. He has played for teams in Bulgaria (Akademik Sofia), Finland (KTP-Basket and Kataja), France (Olympique Antibes), Israel (Hapoel Kfar Saba/Shalom), Poland (Spojnia and MKS), the NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce), Nicaragua (Jaguares), and The Basketball Tournament (Kimchi Express).
Wesley's team reached the Bulgarian final in 2018, earning him the Eurobasket.com All-French ProB Honorable Mention in 2021.
He graduated from Gonzaga University in 2015 and this is his ninth season as a pro player. He also played for the University of Southern California for 3 years.
