Al Ittihad Tripoli (D1) signed 33-year old Algerian ex-international forward Mohamed Harat (198cm-1990) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Harat is the second import player in the roster as USA James Justice signed here earlier.
He played last season at Al Fateh in Saudi Arabian SBL league. In 21 games he had very impressive stats: 29.0ppg, 15.2rpg, 4.6apg, 1.2spg and 1.1bpg. 2022-23 was a great season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com Saudi Arabian SBL All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (6 times).
The previous (2021-22) season he played at Al Ittihad (also in SBL) in Syrian where in 22 games he was league's second best scorer with remarkable 29.1ppg and averaged 14.9rpg (#3 in the league) and 3.4apg in that year. He helped them to win the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place.
He was also a member of Algerian international program for some years. Harat played for Algerian Senior National Team between 2011 and 2020 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2008.
He represented Algeria at the Afrobasket Championship in Rades (Tunisia) eight years ago. His stats at that event were 7 games: 16.9ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.3apg, FGP: 57.6%, FT: 67.7%.
Harat is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Bahrain (Al-Manama), Morocco, Qatar (Al Rayyan, Al Arabi and Al Shamal) and Algeria (GS Petroliers).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL 2nd Team in 2022.
