The most exciting game of round 12 in the D1 took place in Benghazi. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Ahly Tripoli (10-2) to top-ranked Ahly Benghazi (12-0) 73-70 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Ahly Tripoli. Undefeated Ahly Benghazi have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Defending champion Ahly Tripoli keeps the second place with two games lost. Ahly Benghazi are looking forward to face Al Ittihad (#3) in Tripoli in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ahly Tripoli will play on the road against Al Nasr in Benghazi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Benghazi. Fourth ranked Al Nasr (9-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Al Ittihad (9-3) 63-61 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al Ittihad. Al Nasr have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Al Ittihad. Al Nasr will play against league's second-placed Ahly Tripoli at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al Ittihad will play against the league's leader Ahly Benghazi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Tripoli was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Al Morog (3-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Shabab (3-9). Shabab managed to secure a 7-point victory 68-61 on Tuesday. Shabab moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Al Morog. Al Morog lost fifth consecutive game. Shabab will meet at home Al Hilal (#7) in the next round. Al Morog will play against Al Madina in Tripoli and hope to secure a win.
