Al Shabab (D1) signed 31-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) guard Mike Balogun (194cm-88kg-1991, college: Arkansas Tech). Balogun is the second import player in the roster as Serbian Nikola Stanojevic signed here earlier.
He supposed to play at E.N. Paralimni in Cypriot OPAP Basket League. The last season he played at Kavkasia in Georgian A League where in 16 games he was league's fifth best scorer with impressive 15.3ppg and averaged 2.2rpg, 1.8apg and 1.6spg (in top 3). He helped them to win the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. 2021-22 was a great year as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Georgian A-League Honorable Mention.
He is quite experienced player. Balogun has played in five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Estonia (Tallinna Kalev), Greece (Ifaistos), Qatar (Al Ahli), Romania (Politehnica Iasi) and Spain (Alicante).
Balogun graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2015 and it is his eighth season as a professional player. He played also for Southern Illinois University for one year.
