Christopher Obekpa (ex SLAC) agreed terms with Ahly Benghazi for arabic championshib...!

Al Alhy Benghazi (D1) inked 28-year old Nigerian international 206cm power forward Christopher Obekpa (college: UNLV) for arabic championshib. Obekpa played most recently at SLAC in Guinean D1 league. In 5 Basketball Africa League games he recorded 13.0ppg, 11.8rpg, 2.0apg, 1.8spg and 2.6bpg last season.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Obekpa has been a member of Nigerian international program for some years. He has been regularly called to Nigerian senior team since 2018 and previously for U16 National Team back in 2008.
Obekpa is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Obekpa has played previously professionally in Italy (Avellino), Lebanon (Al Riyadi), Turkey (Trabzonspor) and NBA G League (Santa Cruz Warriors).
Among many awards his college team won Lebanese Cup in 2019. He was voted to Turkish League All-Star Game back in 2018.
Obekpa graduated from University of Nevada - Las Vegas in 2016 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
